Healing happens when the mind quiets.
Tired and Wired. Fight or Flight. Rumination. Looping Thoughts like: Is it safe in here for me? Will I ever get better? These questions and states of stress define the daily lives of those being effected by mold and chronic illness. If they are in an environment that doesn’t feel safe the body is not able to heal. Period. I can back this statement up with facts that are taught in biology 101. Your nervous system has two main states:
Sympathetic = "Fight or Flight" This is your gas pedal. It kicks in when you're stressed, scared, or need to act fast. It makes your heart pound, pupils dilate, breathing quicken, and digestion slow down. All your body's energy goes toward dealing with the threat. People with chronic illness get stuck here. People with high workload stress get stuck here. People with anxious minds worried about their environment get stuck here.
Parasympathetic = "Rest and Digest" This is your brake pedal. It's active when you're calm and safe. It slows your heart rate, helps you digest food, and lets your body repair and recover. This is your "chill out" mode. There is no substitute for this state, and the modern world drives a wedge farther and farther in between us and this mode of operation.
If you have an untreated chronic illness or mold in your home no amount of meditation or even Xanax is going to get you into a true parasympathetic state. Trust me! When i was in a moldy home I was having panic attacks that would punch through 2 milligrams of Xanax! That’s the kind of dose of Xanax that inspires mumble rap and face tattoos….and I couldn’t sleep for even a second! I didn’t see any improvement until i was out of my moldy environment. Though I was in my car or in a tent on the side of my mothers house I felt safe and could finally enter a parasympathetic state.
A recent example comes to mind of ignoring the parasympathetic state.….
Chris Williamson. He has Lyme disease and toxic mold exposure. He has all the money one could need, 4 million YouTube followers ,and all the best medicine in the world, but he still feels like crap. Why?…because he has never stopped. he has never stopped moving, running, ruminating and worrying. Below is a link to his endless pursuit of wellness but even at the end he admits the only thing he wont do is slow down and its killing him.

An EVE home is not just a house its a haven to slow down.
I love you. Bye. -
